The best part of is the grammar, believe it or not, Learning to Speak Thai because there is very little to learn. There are no, absolutely NO verb conjugations, which will please anyone who has ever tried to learn one of the Latin-based languages like French, Italian, and Spanish. Future tense is handled with "ja", meaning "will", or by adding an adverb of time, like "tomorrow". Past tense is handled by putting "already" at the end, or by adding an adverb of time, like "yesterday". Saturday was Dun Huang Supermarket grand opening. I just wanted to let everyone know that it was one terrible experience for myself. First parking was a B#*@ch. They do have a parking garage, but it was small and confusing. If you do decide to go, beware of the first floor garage. It goes into a loop and you cannot get out.Second, the store is unfinished. Most products do not have prices or price tags, so no idea how much things cost. Also, the store shelves are still being stocked and really disorganized.Thirdly, the checkout lane is horrendous. They have 8 check out lanes (yeah you would think that is a lot), but these cashiers have no clue what they are doing and just plain outright slow. I waited 1 hour to be checked out. 1 HOUR! in line. So beware to all. Go at your own risk! Plus you can buy most of these things elsewhere (other Chinese Supermarkets) without all the hassle and waiting.

Need to add some excitement to this forum so I compile a list of best place for Asians to live in AmericaI never been to Houston Chinatown so I will not put it on the list.1) Hawaii Asian is the majority and hold many prominent political position includes governor and senator. Many asian run businesses and Billion of tourist dollar come in every year. Cons: expensive housing and lack high paying jobs.2) Los Angeles/Orange CountyAsian are widely accepted and hold some key positions in government. Abunances of high paying jobs and 7 largest economic in the world. Home to half million Asian last counted.Cons: Home to many shallow and materizlic people (not just Asians). Housing cost are astrominical. Traffic is mess through out the land3) New YorkFashion and Finanice Capital of the Country and some say the world, New York create alot of opportunity to immigrants. Jobs are widely available and goods and service are accessible 24 hour a day.Cons: Too fast of pace. People don't really have time to be nice and you can not blame them. Everyone is in a such of hurry.4) San Francisco/Bay AreaHome to one of the oldest Chinatown's in America and Silicon Valley.Asian own varies business and hold many high paying jobs in Engineering sector. Cons: Housing cost is just impossible. Sincei it's home to Silicon Valley, it's home to many engineer which impies all men. 5 single men per single 1 single women makes a very cold dating scene.5) Tie betwen Seattle Chinatown and Chicago Both has varity of business suroundings and only CON for both cities are their weathers

Q: I live in Orlando, and I'm thinking about visiting Houston this winter. I have a few question about Houston Chinatown if someone can help me: How many chinatown are there, and where are they located at??? I know the new chinatown on Bellaire, but where's is the old chinatown, and is there another one in Sugarland??? I'm also looking for a average hotel to stay (if you know any), not too pricey, I'm still a college student, and I'm considering moving here after I graduate. A: Hi Jeff, here are answers to your questions:1. In reality, there is one Chinatown in Houston now. The New Chinatown on Bellaire Blvd. The old Chinatown in downtown is nothing but runned down abandoned buildings and a few Vietnamese stores. Sugar Land has a "shopping plaza" with some Chinese restaurants in Houston , cafes like CoCo's, KingBo II, etc. and a supermarket, Wel Farm. You can of course view our dining guide to find there location.2. On the hotel scene, if you want to stay in Chinatown (or real close), there is the Hilton Garden Inn. Visit our Houston Hotel, Motel Guide for the contact and location. Prices I believe are ok, but you may have to go through the internet pricing for this hotel.I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask! Ingredients:------------3/4 lb Japanese eggplant (about 3 cups sliced)1/4 lb tofu6 T oil2-3 cloves garlic, crushed1-5 red chili peppers, seeded and chopped10-15 sweet basil leaves1-3 T yellow bean sauce (yellow bean sauce from Thailand is saltier than sauce from Hong Kong or China, so season to taste)Instructions:-------------Slice unpeeled eggplant crosswise into slices 1/8-inch thick. Cut tofuinto 1/2-inch cubes. Heat oil in skillet; add garlic and stir-fry untillight brown (don't burn!). Add eggplant and tofu and cook for 5 to 7minutes. Add remaining ingredients; mix gently.
